Speaking through Isaiah, God said His Chosen Servant, His Son, Jesus Christ on whom He would put His Spirit, would be a Servant of the nations, whose ministry of compassion would offer forgiveness and salvation to timid and bruised sinners, saying, “a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench.” (Isaiah 42:3, ESV) 

Thus, in the Spirit of our Lord’s compassion, the mission of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paris, TX, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, will be to seek to be an oasis of God’s grace in Christ Jesus to souls burdened by sin and the everyday weariness of life.

With our heavenly Father’s grace and will, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, St. Paul Lutheran Church will seek to be true ambassadors of reconciliation by serving and glorifying our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, proclaiming God's salvation for souls who are brought to faith and given the forgiveness of sins won for them by the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Altar of the Cross. Through the proclamation of this blessed Gospel, we pray that many may receive and be transformed by the blessed mercies of the Gospel: receiving the forgiveness of their sins and life everlasting.
